I occasionally encounter discussions eg., How do I raise more money, see founders proudly announce how much they raised, or envy what other startups have raised.
Maybe it's my twisted newsfeed.
I can't help but wonder, is raising x M of fund really worth celebrating? After all, those founders gave away something to get the capital, and it's still not a guarantee that the startup would be a successful one. It's a thought-provoking reality we need to consider.
On the other hand, I get why this is worth celebrating: so the company can continue, and the startup can keep building what it believes in.
