Fair point, but let's zoom out a bit.
AI docs (at this stage) aren't about replacing the human touch - they're about enhancing our current system.
Think of it:
1. Online GPs, They can't poke and prod you either, but they're still useful for initial assessments. Medical-trained AI could help with first-line support.
2. It's about making these professions' lives easier. Use AI to tackle the mountain of admin work, freeing up doctors to do what they do best - actually treating patients.
3. The point of this paper is about using tech smarts to patch up the holes in our current system.
What do you think? Could you see AI working alongside human docs, rather than replacing them?
